Saturday Aug. 12th Group Run: Melody's Colorado Send Off

This weekend we say goodbye to our friend Melody. She has been running with RRKC for a long time. I can still remember the first day I met her at a local race expo years ago. We are going to miss her!

This Saturday we run from CoachAmyPT. See Events for details. We will head over to McLain's Bakery for breakfast around 9:30 AM. Even if you plan to run short, we hope you can hang around or come back to help send Melody off.

August Group Runs Start Saturday the 5th!

Build, build and more building! We have lot of mileage to cover for the upcoming Fall 2017 race season. RRKC has four Saturday group runs planned for you in August. Course distance from 10-20 miles. Location does vary this month. Please check the EVENTS page of the website for details.

Heads UP for September - there will be no group run held over Labor Day weekend.

Fell Down? Get UP!

Whether a seasoned, experienced runner or a newbie, there are times we fall down. Sometimes literally after landing on a loose manhole cover. But, falling down can refer to runs skipped or missed because life got in the way. Maybe it's a bad workout you cut short because it got too hot, you were tired or “gave up” on a hill.

The thing is, it’s OK to fall down. It’s staying down that is the failure. When you fall down, grab success and GET UP! Maybe the next workout isn't perfect. Still...get up and do it again! Keep trying. Keep it up! Eventually you will master it.

Rip Off the Bandaid - Do the Uncomfortable

Training is uncomfortable. It is the WORK and preparation for a goal. We must do the uncomfortable to achieve success.

What are you finding uncomfortable? Is it mustering up courage to join a run group? Is it getting yourself to boot camp? Is it jumping into dark, churning open water for a swim? This summer, for me, it has been failing to get up early to work out and pushing it after a long work day when I am more than exhausted.

Training is a struggle; it is supposed to be…but it will pay off.

Your challenge is to do the uncomfortable. Rip off the bandaid!
