PB Update

We are meeting at Shawnee Mission North High School this Saturday. Start time is 6:30 a.m. Dynamic stretching starts at 6:15 a.m. The course will be set up for 18 miles.

Did you know that static stretching decreases efficiency and power with running? Learn when and how to properly stretch to avoid injury and improve performance at the last of our series of clinics for this session: Stretching for Runners. Join us at Sport+Spine this Sunday 6:45 p.m. Wear comfortable clothing. Join us for functional strength training at 5:30 prior to the clinic. Free for first timers!

Please RSVP for clinic and class kcrunning@hotmail.com

Recovery Schedules are UP!

Recovery following a race is a must. Rule of thumb is one day of relative rest for every mile you raced. That doesn't mean lay on the couch for 13-26 days. For details on what do do, go to Members Only > Training Schedules. Your password is listed in your packet. There is a schedule for a half and one for a full. If you are planning more then one race per session and need modifications, please contact Coach Amy at kcrunning@hotmail.com

6:45 p.m. this Sunday at Sport+Spine. Join us for a free trial of Amy's Sunday strength training class prior to the clinic at 5:30 p.m. Please RSVP for clinic and class at kcrunning@hotmail.com

Meet and Greet
Thanks for giving our newbies a warm welcome. We learned that Jami lived in Antarctica as an air traffic controller for the Navy, Marc is a veterinarian that once cared for Amy's grandma's dogs - that's a mouthful. Michelle lived in Germany, Laura is off to Cabo next weekend and Melissa recently visited Vietnam and Cambodia. George and Lacy are in it to win it - their goal this season is to run faster!
