PB Update
/Remember, there is no organized training run this Saturday. Please join us to cheer on your running pals at the KC marathon. If you are interested in joining us at our cheering stations, let us know as we are carpooling to the start and other locations along the course. A big thank you to Allison S. and Erica who helped make signs.
Racers! Meet your PB buddies at 6:25 a.m. at Washing Square Park for a group picture and a good luck send off. We will be next to the George Washington Statue. The park is at Grand and Pershing.
Rokbands just arrived! I will bring them to the group picture on Saturday before the race. There are multiple ways to wear them - headband, beanie, hairband, neck gator... I'm wearing mine as an arm band. They will also work pinned to your back! They are $18.00 each. Please bring check or exact amount - we will not have the ability to provide change. If you plan to pin, bring pins!

Saturday Deets, KC Updates and Congrats Runners
/Saturday Long Run Details - October 13
We are meeting at Foos coffee shop this weekend - NE corner of 95th and Mission. 9421 Mission Road in Leawood. Run starts at 6:30 a.m. with dynamic stretching at 6:15 a.m. We will be set up for 20 miles!
KC folks, it is time to trust the training during the taper! It is easy to worry about mileage right before a marathon and to feel like you aren't doing enough. You've done all your hard work. Now enjoy the fruits of your labor and run easy.
Congrats
A big congratulations to our runners! Several completed the Omaha half or full marathon: Tyler, Jennifer, Cris and Stacie. Dave S. completed a half marathon last weekend and Michelle B. recovered from an injury only to come back stronger and PR at Chicago! Wohoo. Great work!
KC Marathon details
RokBands have been ordered! We have 15 custom bands headed our way - 10 are not yet spoken for, so be sure to get one before the race - wear it as a headband, thick or thin hairband, scrunchie, beanie, mask, scarf, or wristband.. They are blue and say, "RUN WITH THE BEST KCRUNNING.COM." Thanks to Greg Shaw for the tag line! Cost is $18.00. We should have them in time for intervals on Wed evening so plan to come for your work out or an easy run with a few fartleks and pick up your band then.

How Far R U GOING?
/Our original plan for this weekend was to set up for a 22 mile training run, but as it happens many of you require a down weekend. We need a show of hands before we create this week's map. Please e-mail us with your exact planned distance if you are planning to run 14 or more miles this weekend. Thanks for your prompt reply.
