PB Collection for Olathe Runner Hit by Car

We are still collecting donations for local Olathe Runner, Christy McRoberts who was struck by a car during a morning run on Saturday, January 8th, 2011. She is recovering from severe injuries. You can see the news report here.

Personal Best will combine our donations and send them to the Christy McRoberts fund to help cover medical expenses. Any little bit helps. Please bring your donation to this Saturday's run.

This unfortunate event is a reminder that we should carry identification and a phone in case of an emergency. Road ID has bracelets, anklets and shoe ID's.

Visitation will take place this Sunday at Porter Funeral Home from 3 to 5 p.m. with Rosary to follow. The funeral home is located at 8535 Monrovia in Lenexa. The Rosary will be at 5 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will take place Monday at 10 a.m. at Saint Ann Catholic Church, located at 7231 Mission Road.

The effective temperature for our first run of the season is forecast for 8 degrees. There is no snow in the forecast between now and the end of our run. Unless the road conditions worsen overnight, we are on.

In the event the run needs to be canceled, we will post by 6:00 a.m.
