Michelle A., Jennifer C. and Mo at Shawnee Mission Park Run Spring 2014
I've often reflected, what is it about PB that makes it so special? Is it the coach? Well, of course! Is it the training plans and the fully supported and varying courses? Those are great too. While PB gets positive feedback in all those areas, the most popular reason for joining PB is overwhelmingly... the commradarie. Members mention that they "feel part of a family." They like the small group size because, "I can get to know everyone." They feel included by all the runners regardless of their speed.

PB Fall 2014 will continue its tradition providing coaching that is in tune with current trends in exercise science. This fall, we will shed some light, or dark, on hot running topics on our website.

In keeping with our goal to stay up to date on all things running, Coach Amy is currently conducting relevant research with students of Rockhurst's doctorate PT program. We need subjects and you can help us! To participate, contact us.

Besides all the technical mumbo jumbo, we have added two new running courses in Olathe to our already varied file of maps. We have thirteen fully supported long runs that will include your favorites in Brookside, Shawnee Mission North High school and we can't leave out central Overland Park and Prairie Village.

This fall, speed work will...be a SURPRISE every Tuesday night. We will keep you and your body guessing what is next. Start locations at Nall hill and Roe Park. For more on speed work, go here.

Let's not forget our group trip to Virginia. PBers will train this session for the "friendliest marathon"which includes junk food stops, wet washcloths and a downhill finish! If you are interested in the group trip, contact us ASAP.

And back by popular demand...your old friends and some new! And since you like running with others, help us bring in more. Tell your friends, co-workers and family. We'd love to have them join our PB family and their first run is free!

Our first run is on August 16th, 6:30 a.m. at Sport and Spine. Register by August 1st and receive a FREE PB tank or t-shirt. Shirts are $20.00 after the deadline.

New members: $200
Returning members: $190

PB Training for VA

Get SET! The VA marathon has some rollers, so...our training will include hill repeats and we'll throw in some hilly longer runs too (as if we never do). Check out the race courses. Full marathoners should be ready to run 14 miles at our first run on August 16th and half marathoners should be ready to run six-eight miles.

VA is usually a tad warmer than KS in November. Check out Richmond's average temps for November.

It isn't too late to register for the group trip to VA! If you are thinking about joining us, let us know ASAP and we will fill you in on hotel and air travel plans as these are selling out rapidly due to other sporting events in Richmond the same weekend.
