Saturday Long Run Deets ETC

Goodbye Summer! We won't miss your heat and humidity, but we will miss your long days. Most runs will start in the dark now that the days are getting shorter. Be sure to wear reflective clothing so that oncoming traffic can see you.

Our run this Saturday starts at 6:00 a.m. at the CVS - 95th and Nall. We will be set up for 20 miles. Many of you may be headed out of town for Labor Day, therefore we'd like a show of hands so we know how many to plan for on Saturday. RSVP to kcrunning@hotmail.com by Friday afternoon - yays only. Nays - have a good trip and see when you get back.

Heads UP - intervals start this coming Wednesday at Roe Park. 6:00-7:15 p.m. We will start with a 1 mile warm-up and plyometrics. Check your packet for your workout. Don't want to run for speed? That's OK - you can run the trails from the park or do loops around it! The loops are almost exactly a half mile.

Good luck to Michelle Abshire! She is running the Virginia Beach Half this weekend. And congratulations to David M. on completing his first 5K in under 11 min./mile pace! Also congrats to Mo who came in second place in his age division at Head for the Cure 5K. Woo hoo - way to start the season!

Ready, Set, GO!

The fall race season is underway...

Congratulations to Mo! He ran a mile high half marathon in Denver last Saturday and came in second in his age group. Woohoo!

David M. is running in Head for the Cure, his first 5K, this Sunday. Mo is also running this race. We encourage all PBers who have the morning free to cheer on our runners if not run the race yourselves! Let us know if you plan on being there - we'd like to set up a meet spot/time before and after the race.

Dr. Jeff is headed off the road and onto the track at JCCC to race 3000m.

Good luck runners!

Who R U? Long Run Deets for August 25th

Who R U? On this Saturday's run you will find out! A famous character/person will be pinned to your back. It is your job to ask questions of your running buddies to find out who you are and sign in with the answer when you get back to home base.

We will be set up for 18 miles this weekend starting once again at Brookside. Howie created a relatively flat and beautiful course for us! The start time is 6:00 a.m. with dynamic stretching at 5:45 a.m.

Check your training schedules to see how far you need to go. Remember, a training schedule is just a guideline. If you are feeling tired, sick or injured - scale back. Be sure to touch base with Coach Amy if you have signs of injury or need modifications in your schedule.
