We've got the need for speed! Meet for intervals at 6:00 PM at Franklin Park. If you are running Chicago, this is your last speed work session.
We've also got the need for more mileage! This weekend we are going to set up for 14 miles. This is a change from our original long run schedule. This option for a slightly longer run is for those running full marathons in late October/early November such as New York and Indianapolis and are not tapering such as those racing Chicago. If you have any questions about your training plan, please contact Coach Amy.
Congratulations to our RRKC racers! Mary and Laura completed the Go Girl Run Sept. 6th. Mo finished the Broadway Bridge Half in 1:58, 9th in his age group and Kevin placed 2nd in his age group with a time of 1:31. Way to go team!
We have an early start and a loooong run! We will be set up for 22 miles at Shawnee Mission North High School. Start time is 6:30 AM. Those scheduled for 22, your goal is to complete this one, uninjured and feeling the good kind of fatigue at the end. Those last two miles are primarily for exercising your mental muscle. Those running shorter, your goal is to run the mid 50% at goal pace.
One of the best ways to recovery from a long run is to do a little walking later in the day. Our very own Jen Katheiser will be showing some of her artistic talent at the Hallmarket event at Crown Center on Saturday. What a good opportunity to walk out the kinks and support our RRKC family. For details about Hallmarket click here.
Meet at our hill at 6:00 PM. Bring water and your determination! You will leave stronger mentally and physically. Let's Go!
Enjoy a down weekend this weekend as we recover from our recent build. Amy Stucky will be setting up her awesome 10 mile course in Olathe which includes a beautiful paved trail and a jaunt past the Mahaffie Farmstead. We will meet at the Olathe Hyvee. Run starts at 7:00 AM. Your goal is to run clean at goal race pace. Be there!
