Running Safety Reminder

This past weekend, a member of the Olathe Running Club was hit by a car while running and is in intensive care with a head injury. It took police several hours to identify her and notify her family as she was not carrying identification.

What can we do to stay safe?
  • Carry identification while running. See Road Runner ID.
  • Carry a phone while running. See Spibelt.
  • Run with a buddy or group.
  • Review the Safety and Emergency Procedures in your PB membership packets (soon to be posted in Members Only on this site). There are many helpful tips contained within.
If running conditions are unsafe, postpone a run or head to the gym for the treadmill. No race or training schedule is worth the risk.
